FIELD TRIPS

City of Beijing

Students are free to explore the City of Beijing in the afternoons and on weekends. CUPL’s downtown campus is within a short commute of Tiananmen Square, the Great Hall of the People, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. Students are able to travel freely around the city, walk Beijing’s historic streets and neighborhoods, and meet its citizens.

The City of Beijing
To understand a nation’s laws and its legal system, it is necessary to understand its people. Beijing, the magnet city that draws people from all of China’s provinces, provides an unparalleled opportunity to “experience” this vast and diverse nation.

Scheduled sightseeing tours of Beijing include field trips to the National People’s Congress, Beijing's High Court, and law firms; and sightseeing tours to the Great Wall, Ming Tombs, and the new campus of China University of Political Science and Law.

An optional tour of Beijing's Hutongs is also available for approximately $20.

Trip to Xian
 
Students may also visit the city of Xian to tour the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. These statues were discovered in 1974 when a group of peasants unearthed fragments of a life-sized Terra Cotta Warrior. Futher excavation of the vault has revealed thousands of warriors and their horses, with an entire army of warriors designed to follow the emperor into eternity.

An optional sightseeing tour to this world famous archeological find will be arranged. Included in this trip is the Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show, where students will enjoy a wonderful performance of ancient music and dance. The costs for this additional field trip is not included in the tuition and fees. The estimated costs will be approximately $400.00 all inclusive.
